Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Valley Green, PA seeks a Product Engineer to lead design, development and manufacturing of connector products. The role works cross-functionally with engineering, sales and manufacturing to deliver reliable solutions.

You will support NPI programs, analyze performance, and help translate strategic plans into actionable product improvements while maintaining quality and meeting project timelines.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, or Materials Science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with solid modeling tools (Pro/E); FEA tools a plus.
• Able to communicate with both technical and non-technical people.
• Team-oriented and able to work in a dynamic environment.
• Desire to create and design new products and processes.
• Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplastics is a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical connectors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product quality and reliability and perform failure analysis.
• Integrate new technologies and cost initiatives into designs.
• Manage product documentation at component, process, and field levels.
• Serve as customer focal point for technical product information.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to develop prototypes and pilot production.
• Support transition from NPI to volume manufacturing in low-cost regions.
• Provide technical assistance to drafters, designers, engineers.
• Support design efforts in tolerance analysis, FEA, material evaluation, and failure analysis.
• Identify new materials and innovative manufacturing techniques for product lines.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, qualification, and product introductions.
• Contribute to quality investigations and product benchmarking.
• Participate in fixture design and test plans for NPI.
• Identify initiatives for cost improvement and quality.
