Job summary

Amphenol Corporation is seeking an experienced Connector Development Engineer to advance next-generation interconnect products. You will lead design and development of signal and power connectors and cable assemblies to meet performance and cost targets for global customers.

With 8+ years in connector design, you will collaborate across worldwide teams, develop prototypes, and drive qualification and testing. This hybrid role requires travel to engage with clients and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in connector or cable assembly design and development.
• Experience with card edge, memory, power connectors, and high-speed cables.
• Familiarity with PCIe, DDR, OCP, JEDEC, and SFF standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across global teams.
• Proficient in Creo and Windchill preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of connector development projects from concept through qualification.
• Design high-speed and power connectors and cable assemblies, including card edge, memory, and storage connectors.
• Collaborate with global customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver interconnect solutions.
• Apply knowledge of server/storage architectures and industry standards (PCI-SIG, OCP, JEDEC, SFF).
• Develop prototypes, oversee testing and qualification, ensure compliance with standards.
• Conduct cost analysis and provide design trade-offs for product management and manufacturing.
• Benchmark competitors to drive performance, cost, and manufacturability differentiation.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing, including training and engagement.
• Partner with Manufacturing to address cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Stay current with trends in interconnect solutions to guide product development.
