Job summary

Gibson Dunn is seeking a Senior Manager, Conflicts Attorneys (U.S.) in the United States to lead the U.S. conflicts team and oversee clearance for new clients and matters. The role involves mentoring the team, handling complex matters, and shaping screening policies across the Firm’s U.S.

offices. The successful candidate will guide escalation on novel conflicts issues, manage workload, and collaborate with Legal Operations and IT to enhance screening technology, while reporting to the Director

Qualifications

• Substantial knowledge of conflicts-of-interest principles under ABA Model Rules
• Experience resolving conflicts in a large law firm environment
• Ability to lead and develop a team of attorneys and analysts
• Comfort advising partners and Firm leadership on sensitive matters

Responsibilities

• Supervise the U.S. Conflicts Attorneys team and manage workload across time zones
• Coordinate handover with international conflicts team for global coverage
• Provide mentoring, training, and performance feedback to staff
• Escalate and decide on complex conflicts issues within delegated authority
• Analyze conflict reports for new Firm representations for compliance
• Draft memoranda and engagement letters aligned with policy requirements
• Communicate with partners and leadership on high-sensitivity issues
• Oversee client outside counsel guideline reviews and escalate problematic terms
