Job summary

Responsibilities include monitoring inboxes, delegating tasks, and maintaining workflow; serving as a resource to analysts; and ensuring adherence to firm-wide conflict search standards with confidential handling of information.

Qualifications

  • Four year college degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a conflicts role in a large multi-national firm preferable.
  • Familiarity with legal conflicts databases (e.g., Intapp, Dunn & Bradstreet, Aderant) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Conflicts Inbox to identify rush and high priority requests.
  • Coordinate with other Coordinators to assign and delegate requests and transition work among the team.
  • Ensure requests are handled promptly and maintain workload flow.
  • Communicate with Assistants/Attorneys regarding status of requests and updates.
  • Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate and monitor special projects as assigned.
  • Ensure internal protocols and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in ensuring reports are complete, consistent, and accurate firm-wide.

Job description

Based in any U.S. office, the Conflicts Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that our conflicts checking and clearing process is functioning efficiently and providing platinum service to our internal clients. This position is responsible for upholding the standards of quality, consistency, accuracy, thoroughness, and customer service as defined and implemented by the Department.

The Coordinator will monitor shared inboxes and online requests, assign tasks as required, monitor progress of requests to completion, and other tasks as assigned. The Coordinator will serve as a resource for questions from Conflicts Analysts. The position requires acute attention to detail, as well as organizational and researching capabilities.

This position reports to the Conflicts Supervisor.

Note: Candidates must be able to work within the Mountain or Eastern Time Zones.

Responsibilities Include
  • Monitoring the Conflicts Inbox to identify rush and high priority requests.
  • Coordinating with the other Coordinators to assign and delegate requests and transition work among the team.
  • Ensuring that requests are handled promptly, maintains workload and overall flow of requests.
  • Communicating with Assistants/Attorneys regarding questions on the status of requests, how to list parties, how to update requests, etc.
  • Contributing to process, procedure, and technology improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinating and monitoring special projects as assigned.
  • Ensuring internal protocols and procedures are properly followed.
  • Serving as a resource to ensure that all conflicts reports are complete, consistent, accurate and adhere to established standards and procedures for all conflicts of interest searches performed Firm-wide.
  • Following up on conflict issues with Conflict Analysts, Partners, Conflicts Supervisor, Office of General Counsel as well as other Firm personnel as necessary.
  • Identifying and escalating unresolved issues to the Conflicts Supervisor.
  • Ensuring accuracy in searching and reporting tasks.
  • Coordinating with Analysts and other team members to meet deadlines, time-sensitive issues and other challenges.

Experience
  • Four year college degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a conflicts role in a large multi-national firm preferable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as web-based systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal conflicts databases (e.g., Intapp, Dunn & Bradstreet, Aderant) a plus.

Gibson Dunn will consider for employment qualified Applicants with Criminal Histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of local law.

The annual compensation range for this position is $100-110k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
