Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks an Engineering and Operations (E&O) Systems Engineer / Configuration Management Lead to support CM activities across the ND CM Department, working with ND systems and product realization teams to ensure CM is implemented effectively throughout the lifecycle.

You will apply expertise in engineering data architecture, change control, and digital engineering workflows, supporting PRIDE and cross-site collaboration while enabling traceability and data integrity.

Qualifications

• ,Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience with configuration management, systems engineering, and product lifecycle management.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent required to start.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to champion configuration management best practices, improve implementation, and align with project priorities.
• Define and manage product configuration, including as‑designed and as‑built baselines, product structures, configuration status accounting, and traceability.
• Perform administrative, physical, and functional configuration audits, and support quality assessments to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Help define configuration management policies, processes, tools, and plans aligned with digital engineering and enterprise objectives.
• Contribute to enterprise product data management by supporting implementation of product structures and authoritative data sources.
• Provide guidance on configuration management and digital engineering tools, including tool use, testing, traceability, and data integrity.
• Support ND Modernization, PRIDE objectives, and cross-site collaboration by adopting integrated tools and model-based approaches.
• Enable streamlined engineering authorization approaches and strengthen configuration control for Defense Programs.
• Support transition from document-based to model-based artifacts for better integration and readiness.
