Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Configuration Engineer to support VA applications and lead cloud migration in a fully remote role. You will oversee CM and release engineering across complex builds, and work with COTS and internally developed software to ensure scalable, compliant deployment.

The position requires strong CM expertise, experience in regulated environments, and the ability to train developers while guiding best practices across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software builds and releases across multiple environments.
• Experience in regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with CM controls (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).
• Experience with source control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory).
• Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, and Python).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible and Terraform).
• Ability to train developers and guide CM tool usage and quality practices.

Responsabilités

• Support VA applications and spearhead the migration to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software (including COTS).
• Perform CM and release tasks to document and ensure compliant builds and deployment.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures to support product development.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior analysts/engineers.
