Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer. This remote, full-time role supports VA applications, leads CM practices, and migrates systems to cloud environments. You will build and maintain CM tools, establish standards, and guide teams in best practices.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering and 10+ years of related experience, with Public Trust clearance eligibility. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience leading CM and release engineering in regulated environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release processes.
• Knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Support VA apps and migrate to cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks ensuring documentation and standards.
• Design and automate productivity tools to improve modeling and development.
• Develop build procedures to support product development and use.
• Set company-wide software configuration standards.
• Train developers on CM tools and quality practices.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
