Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to support VA applications and migrate to the cloud. The role focuses on software configuration management, release engineering, and build automation across multiple environments.

Requires a Bachelor’s or higher in a technical field and 10+ years of relevant experience; U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex builds and releases across environments.
• Experience in large regulated or federal environments.
• Expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices and source control systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks ensuring documentation and compliance.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools for modeling and development.
• Build procedures to support software product development and use.
• Develop software CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance for complex problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure repeatable build/deployment processes across projects.
