Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to ensure hardware configurations across development and production are accurate, documented, and ready for customer use. You will partner with design, manufacturing, and program management to maintain product integrity and enable seamless integration.

Responsibilities include managing system CAD models, eBOMs, and DFM feedback, plus advancing Digital Engineering and MBSE efforts within a fast-paced defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with hardware-focused organizations, managing and maintaining large CAD assemblies.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Demonstrated organization skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
• Experience with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Ownership and configuration management of system CAD models across development and production.
• Define communication processes between design, manufacturing, and test to maintain configuration accuracy.
• Incorporation of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback from the manufacturing team.
• Work with manufacturing team to ensure build instructions and eBOM alignment with changes.
• Development of Technical Data Packages for customer delivery.
• Develop and guide MBSE and Model Based Engineering approaches.
• Coordinate with Systems Eng, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Chief Engineering teams.
