Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah seeks a Senior Conference Services Manager to oversee all aspects of group events from contract to completion, acting as the client’s main liaison across departments to ensure flawless delivery of conferences, banquets, and gatherings.

The role requires leadership, communication, and organizational skills to deliver a high-end guest experience while optimizing profitability. Onsite, full-time, with a competitive pay range and incentive bonus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in conference services, catering, or event planning in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
• Strong knowledge of banquet operations and group logistics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the client and resort departments for all assigned group events.
• Lead pre-event planning, including BEO development, site inspections, timelines, and logistics.
• Coordinate all aspects of conference services, including audio/visual needs, banquet setup, décor, and guest accommodations.
• Ensure that all departments are informed and prepared for event execution through timely communication and documentation.
• Attend and lead pre-conference meetings and post-event evaluations.
• Work closely with Sales Managers to ensure smooth turnover from booking to servicing.
• Monitor event profitability by managing costs, upselling services, and ensuring billing accuracy.
• Oversee and support on-site execution of events, serving as the client’s point of contact.
• Develop relationships with key clients to encourage repeat business and client loyalty.
• Mentor conference services managers and coordinators as needed.
• Serve as acting liaison or department lead in the absence of the Director of Catering & Conference Services, ensuring continuity of operations, team guidance, and client satisfaction during critical events and day-to-day functions.
• Resolve challenges quickly, professionally, and in a manner consistent with resort standards.
• Support marketing efforts and partner on promotional packages or campaigns related to meetings and events.

Job Summary:

The Senior Conference Services Manager is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of group events from the time of contract through the end of the event. Onsite: Black Desert ResortShift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-TimePay Range: $83,000 – $95,000/year plus incentive bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
