Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah is seeking a Banquet Set Up - On Call to prepare and maintain banquet spaces for weddings, corporate events, and luxury gatherings. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, you will support servers and event staff to ensure flawless execution.

You will set up tables, chairs, staging, and décor, handle last-minute changes, and uphold safety and sanitation standards. This on-call role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and a professional, guest-focused attitude

Qualifications

• Previous banquet setup or event operations experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow event setup instructions accurately.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
• Knowledge of banquet service standards, safety regulations, and hospitality industry best practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet and event spaces, including tables, chairs, staging, and décor according to event specifications.
• Ensure room layouts, furniture arrangements, and equipment are properly placed for each event.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas, ensuring proper handling of equipment.
• Assist banquet servers and event staff by ensuring necessary supplies, linens, and equipment were available.
• Respond to last-minute changes, requests, and adjustments to ensure smooth event execution.
• Assist with loading and unloading event equipment as needed.
• Ensure all banquet areas meet safety and sanitation standards, reporting any maintenance issues.
• Work collaboratively with the banquet and culinary teams to ensure timely event setup and breakdown.
• Support post-event clean-up, resetting spaces, and preparing for upcoming functions.
• Uphold Black Desert Resort’s service standards, ensuring an elevated and seamless guest experience.
• Attend mandatory orientations and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Banquet Set Up - On Call at Black Desert Resort is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and overall maintenance of banquet and event spaces. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, this role ensures that all events are properly prepared and executed, supporting banquet servers, event staff, and clients. The Banquet Houseperson ensures that the physical setup of events aligns with client expectations and resort standards, maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient event environment.

Job Specifications:

Onsite: Black Desert ResortShift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / On Call

Pay Rate: $14/hr plus portion of set up service charges. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
