Job summary

McPherson Concrete Companies, headquartered in McPherson, KS, seeks a licensed Structural Engineer to design cast-in-place and precast concrete structures for infrastructure, utilities, and commercial projects. You will work with production, operations, sales, and leadership on projects from design through production, with a direct reporting line to the VP of Engineering and Design.

The role involves diverse responsibilities across tanks, bridge elements, underground systems, and specialty

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required or ability to obtain Kansas licensure via reciprocity.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering, concrete design, and construction.
• Experience with building codes, ASTM specs, ACI standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD and structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural designs and calculations for cast-in-place and precast concrete.
• Coordinate with drafting teams to produce production drawings.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards (ACI/ASTM).
• Provide technical support to production, QC, and sales.
• Participate in project bidding and parameter definition.
• Review ready-mix concrete designs and structural components.
• Collaborate with contractors, architects, and stakeholders.
• Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
