Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance Specialist III, Concrete for a 260-day position. You will perform concrete and asphalt installation and repair with minimal instruction, estimate materials, and use levels and transits to set grades according to blueprints.

This role requires three years of concrete experience, the ability to read drawings, and a valid Texas driver license. You will help maintain tools and document work orders from initiation to completion while

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in concrete and related crafts.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to work under general supervision.
• Knowledge of form setting, pouring and finishing concrete.
• Pass the District random drug test.
• Hold a Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform concrete and asphalt installation and repair with minimal instruction.
• Accurately estimate amounts and types of required material for all types of projects.
• Use a builder's level and transit to establish proper grades and elevations; modify drawings as needed.
• Construct and set forms for ramps, steps, drive approaches, curbs, gutters, retaining walls, etc.
• Install reinforcing steel with proper dimensions and spacing.
• Finish concrete surfaces using trowel, brush, grooves, and expansion joints.
• Apply all applicable city codes and standards.
• Maintain District tools and equipment in a clean serviceable condition.
• Document work orders from initiation through completion.
• Comply with time and effort reporting for federally funded incumbents.
• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
