Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking Groundskeeper positions (260 Days) to maintain school grounds and support the Maintenance Department under supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (or equivalent), at least 1 year of related experience, basic literacy, and the ability to pass a district drug test. On-site role may involve driving district vehicles and operating multiple tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1 year of directly related experience.
• Basic literacy, including English.
• Must possess physical ability to meet job requirements.
• Knowledge of District operations as required.
• Dependable work experience preferred.
• Must have Texas Driver's License meeting Dallas ISD standards.
• Must pass Dallas ISD random drug test.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties with good safety workmanship.
• Follows direction of Maintenance Supervisor, Lead person or Department Head.
• Operates district vehicles when needed with safe practices.
• Operates hand/power equipment required in the craft.
• Maintains tools, equipment, and supplies assigned.
• Requests supervisory assistance when expertise is lacking.
• Selects and uses proper tools and equipment for the task.
• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Complies with time and effort reporting requirements for federally funded incumbents.
