Job summary

Immel Construction seeks an experienced Concrete Flatwork Foreman to oversee concrete flatwork on construction sites. You will lead crews in preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete for slabs, sidewalks, parking lots, and curb construction.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in concrete flatwork and proven leadership to manage crews, uphold safety standards, and maintain high quality and efficiency on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete construction with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily activities of the concrete flatwork crew in coordination with the onsite Superintendent.
• Review site logistics and planning with the Superintendent.
• Coordinate manpower requests with the onsite Superintendent.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to determine work requirements.
• Set forms, place reinforcing steel, pour, level, and finish concrete.
• Inspect work areas to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.
• Monitor weather conditions to protect the integrity of the pour and finish.
• Prepare for and monitor material usage and coordinate with suppliers and project managers.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Conduct pre-pour checklist and post-poor inspection.
• Train and mentor team members to improve performance and skill sets.
• Communicate effectively with onsite Superintendent, subcontractors, and other trades.
