Job summary
The Haskell Company in Jacksonville is seeking an experienced Senior Preconstruction Estimator to lead cost estimation efforts for complex projects. You will guide a team, review designs, and collaborate with project directors, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate, timely bids.
You will develop detailed estimates, bid strategies, bid packages, and coordinate pre-bid site visits while managing subcontractor quotes and risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field and 5–8 years estimating experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Experience with design/build and CMAR project delivery methods.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of estimators on proposals and develop master estimate formats.
- Review designs, determine scope, resources, and constructability for estimates.
- Create detailed cost estimates, bid strategies, and WBS structures.
- Coordinate pre-bid site visits and precon reviews with stakeholders.
- Manage subcontractor quotes, select qualified bidders, and ensure competitiveness.
- Assist with risk assessment, value engineering options, and cost control.
- Support project management during change orders and budget reviews.
- Travel 10-25% to project sites and bid walks as needed.
