Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray Construction, seeks a skilled Concrete Estimator to review RFPs, take-offs, and cost estimates for commercial projects. Based in Franklin, TN, this role collaborates with the preconstruction team to assemble bids and proposals for review and turnover after award.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, at least 2 years of concrete estimating, strong communication, and proficiency with estimating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management with related experience.
• Minimum 2 years cost estimating for large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Ability to travel up to 15% (in-state and out-of-state).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs to determine pursuit interest.
• Complete quantity take-offs and cost estimate documentation.
• Solicit bids and proposals from vendors.
• Verify scopes and level bids from vendors and suppliers.
• Prepare proposals and participate in bid review and pre-award meetings.
• Assist with project turnover after award.
• Conduct job walks to observe field conditions affecting bids.
• Negotiate bids for competitive pricing.
• Support Senior Estimator and Preconstruction Manager as needed.
