Job summary

Charles River Analytics, now part of GRVTY, seeks a Senior Computer Vision and Autonomy Engineering Lead to guide projects on robotic navigation, autonomy, and sensor processing. The role leads a team of 5–10 engineers, requires deep CV expertise, and a passion for mentoring engineers.

The position supports a hybrid schedule with 60% in-office work at our Cambridge headquarters, US citizenship, and eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field; master's preferred.
• 10+ years in computer vision, perception, or autonomy system development.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for research and production software.
• Experience with robotics frameworks and simulation environments.
• Expertise in object detection, tracking, SLAM, visual odometry, or related areas.
• Experience in lab and field testing of robotic systems.
• Strong software development practices and version control.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in design and integration of computer vision and autonomy algorithms.
• Mentor and manage a team of engineers; support hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback.
• Develop robust software for object detection, SLAM, visual odometry, and sensor fusion.
• Deploy ML models on embedded, edge, and real-time systems (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Oversee architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with scientists and SMEs to translate research into deployable solutions.
• Engage in customer briefings, field testing, and integration activities.
• Contribute to proposals, technical docs, and transition planning.
• Support growth of internal technical capabilities for program needs.
