Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a skilled Computer and Server Repair Technician to support the Electronic Repair Center at Fab 8 in Malta, New York. You will diagnose, repair, refurbish, and validate computer hardware, industrial servers, storage, and network equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing.

This on-site role follows a 5x2 schedule with flexibility across shifts to meet critical manufacturing needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a relevant technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years in computer hardware repair, server maintenance, electronics repair, or IT infrastructure.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol.
• Strong troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and repair methodologies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork within a tightly coupled team.

Responsibilities

• Bench-level diagnostics, repair, refurbishment, and validation of computer systems and servers.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures to component and subsystem level for ERP Fab 8.
• Develop standard work and repair pipelines with training plans for team members.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to identify repair opportunities and cost savings.
• Support critical infrastructure repairs and perform hardware imaging, configuration, and validation.
