Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a skilled Computer and Server Repair Technician to develop and support the Electronic Repair Center (ERC) for Fab 8 in Malta, NY. You will diagnose, repair, refurbish, and manage assets across computer hardware, industrial servers, storage, and network gear to maximize uptime and asset life.

The role requires 3+ years in hardware repair, an associate degree or equivalent, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a relevant technical field.
• Minimum 3 years in computer hardware repair, server maintenance, electronics repair, IT infrastructure support, or related tech field.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide bench-level diagnostics, repair, refurbishment, and validation of computer systems, industrial servers, workstations, storage devices, network hardware, and associated electronic assemblies.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures to the component, board, and subsystem level, including server motherboards, power distribution, memory, processors, and storage devices.
• Develop and execute standard work practices for computer and server repair, testing, and qualification.
• Develop repair pipelines, documentation, and standard work instructions for computer hardware repair and refurbishment.
• Develop and implement repair standards utilizing job breakdown sheets and ensure effective training plans for team members.
• Partner with manufacturing and engineering to identify high-impact repair opportunities and drive productivity and cost savings.
• Support the fab with critical infrastructure and manufacturing system hardware repairs while maintaining quality and uptime.
• Perform hardware imaging, system configuration, firmware updates, and functional validation testing.
