Job summary

The Rhode Island Department of Labor And Training seeks a Senior Computer Operator for the Warwick mail center. You will assist in supervising the shift, verify input/output, explain procedures to operators, read error messages, and coordinate with programmers when needed.

This full-time, 35-hour weekly role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM. Qualifications include high school graduation with computer operations coursework and prior computer operator experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with coursework in computer operations.
• Experience as a computer operator or similar role.
• Ability to explain operating procedures and interpret error messages.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and operate mailroom equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising the shift and maintaining work schedules.
• Check input/output accuracy at the start of each run and correct as needed.
• Explain routines to operators and coordinate with programmers on errors.
• Maintain and update files and operate peripheral equipment as required.
