Job summary

Barbaricum is seeking a Computer Engineer IV to support NSWC Crane Division. Lead software and firmware for DoD systems and automated test sets, applying object-oriented design across C, C++, Python, MATLAB, and HDLs. Senior role with government collaboration and coding standard adherence.

You will architect applications for EMSO mission engineering, RF testing, and signal processing, in a Linux containerized environment, with GIT and STIG awareness.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship.
• 10+ years in computer design, software or networks.
• Proficiency in OO programming, design patterns, and software/firmware best practices.
• Hands-on with C/C++/C#, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and HDLs (VHDL/Verilog).
• GIT-based configuration management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop software and firmware for DoD systems and automated test sets.
• Architect applications for EMSO-driven test and data-analysis workflows.
• Create software development plans, interface control documents, and coding standards.
• Develop drivers for automated instrument control and RF instrumentation.
• Debug and reverse-engineer existing software and firmware; perform module tests.
