  • Strategize verification methods and document timing/method; support new development and test-capability development.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering to identify subassemblies, interfaces, and software/firmware requirements.
  • Coordinate with logisticians and DoD sponsors and interact with engineering IPTs.

Barbaricum is seeking an System Engineer III to directly support the anticipated Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division, Model Based Engineering Assessment Division (Code MXM) opportunity. Code MXM's mission is mission engineering analysis and assessment of complex Naval, DoD, and joint kill chains — with a specialized focus on Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) enabled analysis. As a Systems Engineer III, you will lead requirements analysis, derivation, and management across hardware and software design and development activities for Code MXM's mission engineering capabilities. You will execute System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes, trace requirements from performance through allocated to detailed design, and build the verification strategy that carries a capability to a verified and validated product. You will apply expert knowledge of DoD systems engineering policy in a collaborative Government/contractor engineering environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide engineering requirements analysis, derivation, and management for hardware/software design and development per MIL-HDBK-539 (SOW 4.6.10).
  • Execute SETR processes and apply Root Cause Analysis techniques (SOW 4.6.1.6, 4.6.1.7).
  • Trace requirements from performance to allocated to detailed design and develop the Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix (RTVM).
  • Strategize verification methods for all requirements and document timing/method; support reverse engineering, new development, and test-capability development.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering practices to identify subassemblies, interfaces, functions, environments, and software/firmware requirements.
  • Coordinate with logisticians and product-support specialists and interact with DoD sponsors and engineering IPTs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance (minimum); U.S. citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • Expert knowledge of DoD systems engineering policy (DoDI 5000.02, DoDI 5000.88, IEEE 15288, MIL-STD-961, INCOSE SE Body of Knowledge) and ability to execute SETR processes.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active TS/SCI clearance (preferred).
  • Master's or Doctorate degree.
  • INCOSE CSEP/ESEP certification.
  • Experience developing RTVMs and SETR artifacts on DoD acquisition programs.
  • Prior EMSO / electronic warfare / Navy T&E systems engineering experience.
