Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Sr Systems Compute & Storage Engineer VP to join Enterprise Technology. You will lead Linux server lifecycle management across on‑prem and cloud, harden security, automate day-to-day tasks, and resolve storage and VMware alerts.

You will document in Confluence, manage code in Git, and track projects in Jira, shaping critical infrastructure for the firm. The role requires deep Linux/storage expertise, strong collaboration with risk teams, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing RHEL, storage, and VMware.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of Linux server lifecycle management, on-premises and in the public cloud, including deployment, maintenance, security, and decommissioning
• Lead security focused efforts to harden the Linux environment
• Identify areas where automation for operational improvement of day-to-day/manual tasks can be deployed across various systems & storage technologies
• Respond to and resolve alerts associated with Linux, VMware, and storage events
• Leverage enterprise tools to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot systems and make informed decisions for workload optimization
• Collaborate with other infrastructure teams in the troubleshooting and resolution of escalated system and application related issues
• Maintain current and accurate Confluence documentation for team technologies
• Maintain team source code in Git
• Track projects and tasks in Jira
• Work closely with risk teams to address identified deficiencies in the environment
