Job summary

Jobtailor in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Hardware System Design Engineer to lead system design on computing products from concept to production.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and signal integrity teams, interact with suppliers, and guide board-level development, with emphasis on high‑speed interfaces and DDR4/DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen5/Gen6, and power distribution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; 8+ years system-level dev.
• Experience with hardware designs using x86 or ARM CPUs.
• Experience with high-speed design and signal integrity issues.
• Experience with power distribution techniques.
• Preferred: 10+ years system-level dev in server/computer/network/storage.
• Ability to interface with software, mechanical, and signal integrity disciplines.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences verbally and in writing.
• Experience with high-speed network interfaces (10G/25G/100G/400G).
• Experience with PCIe Gen5/Gen6 adapters and switches.
• Experience designing systems with DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs.
• Hands-on board design knowledge.
• Familiarity with Cadence Concept and Allegro.
• Experience with shipping products.
• Preferred: Master’s/PhD in EE/CE.
• Ability to travel 5%-10% of the year.
