Daikin Applied Americas is hiring a Senior Compressor Development Engineer in Plymouth, MN. You will drive centrifugal compressor design, validate performance, and guide lifecycle through prototype, testing, and launch stages.

Role emphasizes turbomachinery expertise, CAD proficiency, and strong collaboration with engineering and product teams to strengthen product quality and Daikin brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of related experience; higher degree can substitute.
• Experience with turbomachinery, especially centrifugal compressors.
• Fundamental mechanical engineering, stress, vibration and fatigue knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan compressor development milestones and design reviews.
• Perform detailed centrifugal compressor design from component to system.
• Conduct stress, vibration, modal and fatigue analyses.
• Support lifecycle stages from requirements to launch.
• Derive component-level specs and DFMEA during design/testing.
• Provide performance results for marketing and sales.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and generate project docs.
