Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Compressor Development Engineer in Plymouth, MN. You will lead planning and advanced design of centrifugal compressors, from gear and bearing design to rotor dynamics, with a strong emphasis on life-cycle performance and manufacturability.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 5+ years' turbomachinery experience, extensive DFMEA and DoE usage, and collaboration across suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust, test-driven products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with turbomachinery and centrifugal compressors.
• Strong background in stress, vibration, fatigue, and failure modes.
• Familiarity with DFMEA and testing processes.
• Proficient CAD skills and制造ability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement planning for compressor development with milestones.
• Design and review centrifugal compressor components.
• Perform stress, vibration, and fatigue analyses.
• Develop DFMEA during design, analysis and testing.
• Plan test programs and run DoE studies.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability.
• Document results for product launches and marketing.
