Job summary

AltaMed is seeking an experienced Compounding Pharmacy Technician III to support pharmacists in processing orders and coordinating patient care. The role includes compounding medications, IV therapies, and ensuring strict aseptic techniques while maintaining high patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of pharmacy technician experience required.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
• Successful enrollment and completion of the AltaMed designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).
• Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in processing orders and coordinating patient care.
• Prepare and dispense medications and supplies, including IV therapies with aseptic techniques.
• Work in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time for safe operations.
• Maintain patient safety and consistently deliver top-notch customer service.
