Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a seasoned Composites Engineer for its Military Composites team in Compression Systems Engineering in East Hartford. You will support design development, analysis, and manufacturing for composite fan components across military engines and development programs.

Responsibilities include IPT collaboration, structural analysis, material architecture decisions, and mentorship. Travel ~10% is anticipated; U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years’ relevant experience in Defense/Aerospace or related industries, OR Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Mansioni

• Functioning as a design/structures engineer for composite components and working on an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
• Providing design and/or structural analysis support through conceptual, preliminary, & detailed design phases, including validation and certification.
• Material selection, laminate architecture, CAD detail/assembly modeling, and sub-element component design for testing.
• Finite element analysis of homogeneous solid, layered shell, and ply-by-ply models for engine hardware compliance.
• Assist in manufacturing process development at suppliers and ensure manufacturability of designs.
• Support of Military Engines, advanced engine designs and installed base; apply CORE tools within the Composites Organization.
• Mentor and coaching of developing engineers; travel ~10%.
