Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Owego, NY, seeks a Sr. Process Engineer to lead composite process development for circuit-board production, boosting yield and reducing cost.

You will design and qualify adhesive and sealant applications, work with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior staff to ensure safety and excellence. You will apply deep expertise in composites, materials testing, and process optimization to support mission-critical defense programs and a diverse customer

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with non-metallic materials such as sealants, adhesives, polymers, and composite systems.
• Experience with material property testing and ASTM standards (e.g., ASTMD638, D256).
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead composite manufacturing process development to boost yield and reduce cost.
• Design, test, and qualify adhesive and sealant applications for circuit-board assemblies.
• Collaborate with materials, quality, and manufacturing engineering to integrate improvements into high-volume production.
• Analyze process data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Support transfer of new processes from pilot to full-scale manufacturing with supply-chain coordination.
