Job summary

Rocket Lab in Middle River, MD, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own the composite structures for the Neutron vehicle. You will lead manufacturing process development, tooling, and measurements, while ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets are met.

The role requires 5+ years in composites, a mechanical/ aerospace/ manufacturing degree, and the ability to mentor engineers while collaborating with design and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, or other technical degree.
• 5 + years of composite manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment and layout definitions to meet volume requirements.
• Develop production processes with testing procedures, safety requirements, and supervisor sign-offs.
• Design, develop, and implement tooling and equipment for production needs.
• Lead design reviews focusing on manufacturability, testability, productivity, and quality.
• Oversee introduction of new products and revisions to the Neutron composite structure.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians daily.
