Job summary

Litmus7 is seeking a Senior Solution Architect with 12+ years in eCommerce technology to own end-to-end commerce architecture on composable/MACH platforms. You will lead platform selections, architect multi-subsystem commerce solutions, and drive phasing strategies from legacy to modern architectures.

Expect deep hands-on work with cloud, microservices, API strategies, and data modeling in a customer-facing, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Must have 12+ years in eCommerce technology with 5+ years as a Solution Architect
• 5+ years architecting on composable/MACH platforms with hands-on depth in multiple platforms
• Experience leading end-to-end platform selections and recommending to executives
• Architected at least one from-scratch or full-replatform enterprise ecommerce implementation
• Expert across commerce subsystems: Profile, Catalog/PIM, Browse/Search, Cart/Checkout, Pricing/Promotions, Payments, Inventory, Returns
• Strong Java Springboot microservices foundation to review offshore designs and challenge ISV claims
• Event-driven and reactive architecture, including event modelling and eventual consistency in orders/inventory
• Experience with PBC integration across search, CMS, personalization, loyalty, OMS, payments/fraud/tax
• Ability to assess modularity, swap-ability, and data export rights
• Expert in one CSP (AWS/Azure/GCP) with API gateways, serverless, containers and messaging
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or equivalent
• SQL/NoSQL data architecture and data modeling
• Strong API architecture: REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, versioning
• Headless storefront: React/Next.js, edge rendering, caching, SEO
• Observability and performance engineering with New Relic/Datadog; NFR across PCI-DSS, GDPR
• Ability to build and defend a TCO model
• Experience defining strangler-pattern roadmaps and phased migrations
• Proficient in Agile methodologies and JIRA
• Retail domain knowledge; apparel/fashion preferred
• Exposure to subscription or curated commerce models is a plus
• Agentic commerce readiness is a plus
• Vendor/ISV management and offshore team leadership
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Define and drive enterprise ecommerce architecture strategy
• Lead platform selections, RFPs, vendor deep-dives and executive presentations
• Architect end-to-end ecommerce implementations from scratch or replatforming
• Oversee subsystems like catalog, PIM, pricing, payments, inventory, returns
• Review offshore team designs and challenge vendor claims
• Ensure event-driven, microservices-based designs and modular architecture
• Align CSP, API gateways, serverless, containers and messaging strategies
• Implement IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation and manage cloud resources
• Model data with SQL/NoSQL and support data governance
• Shape headless storefronts with React/Next.js and edge rendering
• Establish observability, performance, and security (PCI-DSS, GDPR)
• Develop TCO models and phased migration roadmaps
• Collaborate with agile teams and manage stakeholders
