Job summary

L7Commerce is seeking an accomplished Senior Solution Architect for a client-facing, on-site role in San Francisco. You will own end-to-end commerce architecture across MACH-based stacks, lead platform selections, and drive multi‑vendor engagements from assessment to executive reporting.

The role requires deep expertise in enterprise eCommerce, REST/GraphQL APIs, and headless storefronts, with a track record of successful replatforms and strategic roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in eCommerce technology with 5+ years as Solution Architect.
• 5+ years on composable/MACH platforms with depth in two major platforms.
• Led platform selection/end-to-end RFP processes and executive presentations.
• Architected full replatform enterprise eCommerce implementations.
• Expert across commerce subsystems: Profile, PIM, Catalog, Search, Cart, Payments, Inventory.
• Strong Java Springboot microservices foundation; review offshore designs.
• Event-driven architecture with orchestration vs choreography and eventual consistency.
• PBC integration across search, CMS, personalization, loyalty, OMS, payments.
• Assess modularity, data export rights, and lock-in surfaces.
• Expert in one CSP (AWS/Azure/GCP) with API gateways, serverless, containers, messaging.
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform; SQL and NoSQL data modeling.
• Strong API architecture: REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI; versioning and governance.
• Headless storefront: React/Next.js, edge rendering, caching, Core Web Vitals.
• Observability and performance engineering; NFRs and PCI-DSS/GDPR.
• Ability to defend a TCO model including licence, run cost, and gaps.
• Phased, strangler-pattern roadmaps; parity gates and no big-bang cutover.
• Retail domain knowledge; apparel/fashion preferred; subscription models a plus.
• Agentic commerce readiness; machine-consumable data access is beneficial.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies and JIRA.
