Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Senior Compliance Associate to join the Legal team and support Marketing, Payments, and Food & Beverage. You will partner with stakeholders to identify compliance risks, assess controls, and help mature the compliance program across the first line of defense.

Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, delivering risk reports, advising on consumer compliance requirements, monitoring regulatory changes, and driving remediation with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in compliance, legal, risk management, or internal audit.
• In-depth knowledge of consumer compliance laws and regulations applicable to marketing, financial services or retail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience using AI tools to improve compliance work.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Self-directed with proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with compliance assessments using auditing practices.
• Develop and deliver reports on risk assessment results and trends to internal partners.
• Advise on consumer compliance requirements and strengthen first line compliance knowledge.
• Research regulatory changes and assess impact on business processes and controls.
• Support remediation actions and document corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Review trainings, policies, and customer communications for compliance.
• Provide oversight of findings from Compliance, Internal Audit, and Bank partner.
• Build cross-functional relationships across the three lines of defense.
• Maintain knowledge through training and publications.
• Assist with implementing Nordstrom's compliance management program.
