Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer to lead regulatory alignment for product development, working with product managers, firmware and hardware teams, and third‑party labs to achieve global certification.

The role emphasizes interpreting UL 1741-SB, UL 2877, IEC 62477, and IEEE 1547 standards, shaping compliance strategy and maintaining documentation while enabling design flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in regulatory engineering or compliance roles in power electronics, embedded systems, or capital equipment.
• Proven experience applying UL 1741-SB, UL 2877, IEC 60730, IEC 62477, IEEE 1547, and related standards.
• Hands-on experience with third-party labs (UL, TUV, Intertek, CSA) for product certification and compliance negotiation.
• Skilled in producing compliance documents, test procedures, and certification plans.

Responsibilities

• Identify relevant regulatory standards during product planning and guide teams on compliance.
• Engage early with product managers and hardware engineers to de-risk compliance bottlenecks.
• Coordinate test and certification efforts with labs to secure certifications while advocating favorable interpretations.
• Develop and maintain compliance documentation including test plans and declarations of conformity.
• Oversee pre-compliance testing, witness certification testing, and root cause analysis for failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between features and regulatory deliverables.
• Shape long-term global certification strategy (CE, UL, UKCA) for modular deployment.
• Track evolving standards and share implications with internal teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the People Manager.
