Job summary

POAH Communities is seeking a Compliance Audit & Support Specialist to lead portfolio-wide audits and support activities. The role combines audit execution with training and guidance to property teams to ensure regulatory compliance across LIHTC, Section 8, HOME, and related programs.

The position requires five years' experience in affordable housing compliance, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Yardi.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in affordable housing compliance or property management.
• Experience reviewing and auditing affordable housing resident files.
• Ability to travel periodically by automobile and commercial airline.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary compliance auditor for assigned affordable housing communities.
• Audit lease-up, initial move-in, transfer, and other resident files for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review files for LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, HOME, and state housing finance agency requirements.
• Prepare lease packages and other required compliance documentation.
• Provide compliance training and guidance to property staff on policies and regulations.
• Support compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting requirements.
