Job summary

EQT Corporation seeks a Completions Planning Engineer to develop long-range plans for safe, cost-efficient well operations and to coordinate with cross‑functional teams. You will design completion layouts, optimize traffic routes, and forecast resource needs for future projects.

You will manage budgets, analyze historical data to support forecasting models, and drive execution through collaboration with engineering, operations, vendors and permitting teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with peer-leading operator and unconventional shale projects.
• Minimum of 3 years in planning, strategic planning, or engineering/operations planning.
• Experience in completions engineering and operations with strong planning and execution.
• Proficiency in CAD, ArcGIS, WellView or equivalent; coding in SQL/Python/PowerBI.

Responsibilities

• Planning and Design: Create detailed completion programs with site layouts, staging optimization and engineered traffic routes.
• Long-Range Planning: Develop strategies aligning supplies to forecasted demands (sand, water, equipment, fuel, layouts).
• Budget Planning and Lookbacks: Prepare budget plans, track expenditures and analyze performance against targets.
• Demand Forecasting: Use historical data and models to forecast materials, personnel and logistics needs.
• Project Management: Oversee long-range planning projects from conception to approval and post‑job lookbacks.
• Technical Analysis: Analyze historical completion data to support decision making.
• Collaboration: Work with completions engineering/operations, vendors, permitting, logistics, midstream and production teams.
• Quality Control: Ensure inputs/outputs integrity of forecasting models.
• Templates: Develop cost templates, blueprints, and playbooks to ensure consistency.
