Job summary

University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist to support compensation programs, equity analyses, and compliance with federal and state wage laws. You will conduct market analyses, assist in salary administration, and partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure equitable offers and data-driven decisions.

The role requires experience with compensation systems, data reporting, and strong MS Office skills to translate strategy into actionable results for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Management or a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
5-7 years’ experience with compensation programs and/or analysis work.
Knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations.
Experience with databases for accessing compensation information and associated job descriptions.
Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
Strong technical skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with and present effectively to leadership, stakeholders and peers.

Responsibilities

Analyze and recommend job evaluations and salary administration within UMass Chan compensation programs.
Perform analytical studies in equity, pay practices, incentives, and market trends.
Review and approve compensation actions such as promotions and off-cycle increases.
Collaborate on job descriptions, classifications, internal equity, and market data.
Analyze compensation and employee data to support managerial decisions.
Educate managers on market analysis for roles and MEPA compliance.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support offers and pay equity.
Run data reports for compensation metrics.
