Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School is seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist to support compensation administration, job evaluations and compliance with wage and salary laws. You will analyze data, model compensation programs and translate strategy into actionable results.

The role involves collaborating with Talent Acquisition, reviewing job descriptions, and ensuring pay equity across the organization, with a focus on accurate salary bands and market data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years' experience with compensation programs and/or analysis work.
• Knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations.
• Experience with databases for accessing compensation information and job descriptions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal skills with leadership, stakeholders and peers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and recommend job evaluations, salary administration and other compensation programs.
• Perform analytical studies in areas such as internal/external equity, pay practices and trends.
• Review and approve compensation actions such as promotions and pay increases.
• Collaborate on job descriptions, classifications, market data and salary bands.
