Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a Compensation professional to analyze and manage our compensation programs, determine internal equity, and support annual salary planning in Short Hills, NJ. The role involves maintaining job descriptions, conducting market surveys, and generating quarterly reports.

The ideal candidate has a college degree, 5+ years of compensation experience, strong math and software skills, and the ability to collaborate across levels.

• Expert proficiency in standard business software, including MS Office and HRIS report writing.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes/evaluates internal positions and compares to internal and external surveys to maintain appropriate grade levels.
• Assists in updating salary structures and develops annual salary guidelines.
• Leads annual compensation process and maintains reports and data accuracy with HRIS.
• Participates in compensation surveys and analyzes market trends.
• Maintains all job descriptions and updates as needed for reporting and compliance.
• Develops, distributes, and maintains quarterly reports on turnover, incentives, promotions, and awards.
• Keeps up with compensation regulations and best practices.
