Job summary

CGS Federal seeks an experienced CommVault Systems Engineer focused on data protection, backup and recovery for a large federal enterprise. You will design, deploy, secure, and troubleshoot advanced backup environments, coordinating with operation teams to meet rapid recovery needs.

The role requires deep knowledge of Commvault, LAN/WAN, Windows/Linux servers, and security practices including DISA STIGs, with a commitment to delivering reliable data protection services.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Commvault data protection applications.
• Experience with LAN/WAN, Windows Server, Linux, and SQL databases.
• Experience applying DISA STIGs to Commvault systems.
• Perform security-related tasks including documentation, vulnerability scanning, patch management, and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, integrate and secure backup and storage products across WAN for a large-scale federal environment.
• Create and maintain optimal backup, restore and redundancy solutions including VM backups and regular maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery issues spanning networking, apps, servers, and hardware.
• Provide analytics, usage, capacity planning and reporting in the backup management system.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure timely backup/restore and data replication requests.
