Job summary

VTG Defense is seeking a Communications Officer in McLean, VA to lead internal communications, content development, and digital strategy. You will craft messages for all-hands, summarize weekly topics, and coordinate across designers and technical teams to keep content accurate and engaging.

The role requires TS/SCI with poly, a Bachelor's degree (or 10+ years experience), and strong writing, editing, and project management skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging.
• Draft and publish workforce messages for All Hands and events.
• Gather and summarize topics for the weekly workforce newsletter.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and technical teams on digital content.
• Create and publish web pages and newsletters that are visually appealing and accessible.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508, GDPR, and related standards.
• Identify and resolve website issues, coordinating with IT and vendors.
• Update web text, images, videos, and multimedia content.
• Provide editorial quality control and support mass email distribution.
• Develop and deploy new communication strategies with stakeholders.
• Act as a technical liaison between users, managers, and developers.

VTG is looking for a Communications Officer in McLean, VA

What will you do?

• Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging.
• Draft and publish workforce messages promoting FO events such as All Hands meetings.
• Gather and summarize key topics for the weekly newsletter to engage the workforce.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and technical teams to develop and update digital content.
• Create and implement visually appealing, user-friendly web pages and newsletters.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508, GDPR, CCCA, and other regulatory standards.
• Identify and resolve website issues, coordinating with IT and external vendors as needed.
• Gather content requirements and update web text, images, videos, and multimedia.
• Provide editorial quality control and support mass email distribution via EDGE Mass Email Tool.
• Work with various stakeholders to develop and deploy new communication strategies.
• Act as a technical liaison between users, managers, and developers.

Do you have what it takes?

• TS/SCI with poly
• Bachelor's degree (four years of relevant experience may substitute in lieu of a degree) and 10+ years of relevant communications experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strongproject management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Expert level of hands-on experience with Joomla, EDGE, SharePoint, WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite
• Hands-on direct experience with Joomla, EDGE, and excellent writing skills are required

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $140,000-$180,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
