Job summary

Comcast offices in Memphis, TN seek a dedicated field technician to maintain and restore the integrity of HFC and fiber networks. You will troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, respond to outages, and support with leakage mitigation and power supply work to ensure reliable video, voice, and high-speed internet services.

The role involves complex diagnostics, cross-functional collaboration, on-call rotations, and travel across the service area.

Qualifications

Safety-conscious in aerial, underground, roadside, and customer-facing environments with OSHA, NEC, NESC, DOT, and Company safety standards.
Maintains and troubleshoots HFC and fiber networks including power supplies, amplifiers, coax, and optical equipment.
Diagnoses and resolves network impairments using test equipment, optical diagnostics, and software tools.
Understands fiber and coax network architecture; isolates and restores signal integrity across the network.
Performs preventative maintenance to identify issues before service impact.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot analog/digital optics to support connectivity to node and OLT/VBNG; use software tools.
Isolate and resolve fiber optic signal impairments for HFC and EPON networks; inspect connectors and panels.
Perform construction maintenance: splice aerial/underground cable, activate new plant, repair damaged lines, and maintain power supplies.
Coordinate with Construction, Head End, Operations to resolve complex network issues.
Ride out CLI, track and repair leakage as needed.
Comply with NEC, NESC, OSHA, FCC, EPA, DOT, ANSI, and state/local codes where applicable.
Work hours may include evenings/weekends; overtime as required; 10-hour days four days a week possible.
