Job summary

New America’s Re-Scripting Gender, Work, Family, and Care initiative seeks a versatile Senior Communications Associate to lead design, video, social media, and writing efforts. You’ll translate research into visuals, craft layouts and newsletters, shoot and edit short videos, and manage posts for varied audiences in the media-for-social-impact ecosystem.

Based in the United States with opportunities in Los Angeles or New York, this full-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package and room

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in communications and/or design.
• Experience with major design/production tools including Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Premiere Pro or Final Cut for video editing.
• Datawrapper/Tableau or similar data viz tools.
• Comfort with project management/database tools (Airtable/Notion).
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Demonstrated history of flexible/creative work amid shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create static infographics and data visualizations from audience research.
• Design materials using New America brand and tone guidelines.
• Publish blog posts on WordPress; coordinate with Central Comms for updates.
• Take photos/videos at events; plan/edit short social videos.
• Organize and maintain shared asset collections of photos/videos.
• Plan, caption, and publish social content; monitor engagement and collaborations.
• Collaborate on writing and production; draft outreach to stakeholders; coordinate printing/shipping.
