Job summary

Peraton's Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team seeks an experienced communications advisor with strong writing for press releases and social media. The role focuses on translating complex technical jargon into accessible language and developing multi-channel educational stories.

The ideal candidate will craft executive and technical pieces, edit for AP style, and collaborate with a larger team, while meeting tight deadlines from our Reston Town Center office.

Qualifications

• Must have strong writing and editing ability with a portfolio.
• Experience in corporate communications and content creation.
• Ability to learn brand style and guidelines, and to work independently.
• Excellent organization and deadline management.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Write press releases, social media posts, and website content.
• Draft executive-level and technical feature pieces.
• Create educational stories across multiple media channels via interviews with SMEs.
• Attend meetings and events to promote Peraton to customers and partners.
• Edit copy to AP and Peraton style guides.
• Research content across company areas and translate tech jargon for broad audiences.
• Create collateral from white papers to marketing materials.
• Master Microsoft, Canva, and Adobe applications.
• Collaborate with the MarCom team to align messaging.
• Manage portions of projects using project management tools and meet deadlines.
• Take initiative to improve processes and work cross-functionally.
