Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Strategic Communications and Marketing Advisor to lead external communications and marketing initiatives that drive growth and visibility. This on-site role in Reston, VA partners with sector leaders and SMEs to craft strategic campaigns, messaging, and content across press, websites, and collateral.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in external communications, exceptional writing, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in external or marketing communications.
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications campaigns.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with multiple business units or sectors in a matrixed organization.
• Must be able to work on-site at the Reston, VA headquarters and be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated marketing and communications campaigns to support sector growth objectives.
• Serve as liaison between sectors and MarComms for external communications needs.
• Develop external communications strategies to enhance brand presence and support capture.
• Collaborate with sector leadership to identify differentiators and success stories for external audiences.
• Develop content for external channels including press releases, thought leadership, case studies, and marketing collateral.
• Support media relations by crafting messaging and coordinating opportunities.
• Ensure consistent messaging across social, web, and digital campaigns.
• Provide strategic advisory support and monitor industry trends for thought leadership.
• Track effectiveness of communications efforts and report to sector leadership.
