PACCAR, a Fortune 500 leader in premium trucks, seeks a Sr. Commodity Manager to manage supplier relationships and drive total cost reductions across the Structures Group.

You will negotiate contracts, lead cross-functional teams, and deploy strategic procurement initiatives globally. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in sourcing or related fields, strong Excel and contract skills, and automotive or truck industry experience.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of sourcing, engineering, logistics or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field required. Masters or MBA preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form to various levels of management and suppliers.
• Possess a good understanding of fundamental contract terms and be able to draft supply contracts.
• Possess an understanding of cost drivers and how changes in those drivers affect cost.
• Ability to perform market research to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers.
• Experienced negotiator with demonstrated favorable results.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities as well as PC skills (Word, Access & PowerPoint).
• Understanding of aluminum and steel component manufacturing processes a plus
• Understanding of casting and forging processes a plus
• Project Team participation and/or Project Management experience a plus
• Experience with part purchasing, design, manufacturing, supply chain management and/or commercial truck or automotive experience a plus

Aufgaben

• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality.
• Investigate, evaluate, and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies and logistical opportunities.
• Negotiate and assure supplier compliance to long-term supply and warranty agreements.
• Issue formal RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and analyze responses to make sound commercial judgments and sourcing recommendations
• Collaborate with PACCAR operations worldwide to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and commodity strategies.
• Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels.
• Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate opportunities, improve efficiencies and resolve issues.
• Travel to PACCAR operating locations in support of above activities.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
