Job summary

Spectrum Control is seeking a Commodity Manager to develop and execute commodity strategies across multiple manufacturing sites. You will lead a team of three professionals, drive supplier negotiations, manage risk, and optimize costs while aligning with engineering and operations for make‑or‑buy decisions.

The role requires technical sourcing experience and strong commercial judgment, with opportunities to influence cross‑functional teams and corporate sourcing strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
• 7+ years in strategic sourcing or supply‑chain management with 2+ years of direct people management.
• Experience leading sourcing for technical components in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, contract development, cost analysis, and supplier‑performance management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business objectives and manufacturing needs.
• Lead a team of three commodity professionals; set priorities and development plans.
• Manage supplier relations, negotiate contracts, and drive cost reductions and risk mitigation.
• Partner with Engineering and Operations to support transitions and make‑versus‑buy decisions.
• Standardize practices across locations and pursue enterprise‑wide spend optimization.
