JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design info using automated M/E estimating systems.
- Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for projects.
- Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
- Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
- Develops sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule needs.
- Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and help develop constructability review reports.
- Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
- Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes.
- Supports the commissioning process, including pre-functional checklists and functional testing.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
- Performs increasingly complex activities in mechanical, electrical, and field construction.
- Develops budget estimates based on design info.
- Reviews options, completes systems analysis, and suggests value engineering.
- Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops sequencing and scheduling solutions.
- Reviews design documents for quality issues and helps develop quality control programs.
- Performs job inspections and develops testing procedures.
- Prepares and verifies commissioning documentation and plans.
- Mentors less experienced team members.
- Creates tools and solutions to improve processes.
- Negotiates subcontracts and purchases equipment.
- Builds client relationships and participates in business development.
- Represents the department externally and manages resource allocation.
- Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and construction software.
- Ability to read plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of project processes and construction management fundamentals.
- Ability to build relationships and manage budgets.
- Experience with ASE, Lens, BIM, Lean, and scheduling software is preferred.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field required; relevant experience considered.
- 10+ years construction management experience preferred.
Working Environment & Benefits
