Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, seeks a commissioning professional to plan, organize, and manage commissioning activities for facilities, systems, and assemblies, ensuring performance meets objectives and criteria. Role requires leadership over the commissioning process and coordination with multiple teams.

Responsibilities include directing supervisors, delivering capital projects on schedule and within budget, and maintaining project plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with 6+ years in the field, or a high school diploma with 10+ years' experience.
• Experience in startup, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and control drawings.
• Familiarity with digital protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
• Proficient in calibration, testing and maintenance of field instruments.

Responsibilities

• Establishes tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Directs Supervisors and other staff involved in the Commissioning process. Inspects daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to assure quality of work. Provides administrative and technical direction to staff; interprets established policies and procedures.
• Accountable for delivering moderately complex capital projects, from pre-feasibility to commissioning, on time, budget, and specifications
• Maintains project plan in accordance to approved project schedule and established policies and standards
• Develops, plans, and coordinates the work plan for assigned commissioning responsibilities, which may include the administration of contractual proposals relating to construction projects. Coordinates work with other units and site departments.
• Provides information and resources to site officials and other departments
• Answer questions and provide information to the public
• Coordinates the activities of consultants and contractors
• Perform other duties as required.
